Genre Switched Posters

I remember seeing this film as a kid and how upbeat and uplifting it was. I then contrasted that to the eeriness of the Six Sense. I trawled through shots of Matildia with multitude images of her smiling. I then caved in on the image that I used, she’s got a creepy unsettling look on her face. I also pictured this image at the bottom of a dvd cover.

I am Legand

I wanted to contrast this film from a gory zombie movie to a cheerful joyous film. I picked on the fact that in I am Legend, Will Smith has a dog then looked a films like lassie. I Took a shot of Will and the dog together and manipulated it to have them sitting on some grass in on a nice day. I had a problem that Will smith had a gormless gaze in the photo, so i looked for a image with the widest grin possible to replace it.

Rendering

This Week, I have animated the dressing room scene besides having major issues with a hard-drive failure at home, as a result meaning I have had to redo several parts of scenes along with parts of animation. Besides that all of has went well rendering wise, we sat down to edit as a group and I was very pleased with what everyone has produce. Tom has definitely brought it together very well. I feel my skills came in handy when editing and soundscape and besides there are always thing we believe we could change.

I feel with a group project you can learn alot about yourself and how you work with others. You can bond with people and get to know each alot more. You can get fed up of each other and no-one will be entirely happy as the animation with be a combination of compromises. It puts forth you strengths and weaknesses to right to the front to be critiqued by others.

Three Colours Blue Genre Switch Trailer

I really enjoy this film and I chose this film due to this atmospheric dark shots. I really saw that it could come across well as a dark horror. I produced the some ambient vacant sound to place within the background and edited the footage to portray that the main character is being stalked.

Dressing Room

I was inspired for the dressing room by this scene in the incredibles. I really like the dark lighting and the description of Mr Incredibles live throught his walls.

For the dressing room scene i really wanted to reflect Qs personality along with his emotions at the time that he was failing on the show. He is a English gentle man so I Incorporated traits of a country house with the furniture and a depressing dark green wallpaper to reflect his mood. I though into what objects to add into the set, a cigarette as he is obviously stressed at this point, along with general.

Rigging Q

I began rigging the character using some of Alans tutorials, it was good to see the process as a whole. I had many issues and saw the importance in keeping order within the outliner. My rig was very simplistic as i didnt want to complicate the animation of such a simple character. But I must say it wasnt one of my favorite processes and must admit I really struggled with it. I skinned it using smooth bind with the component editor editing values as it was a low polygon model. There were were a few issues but this was a direct result of how the character was rigged, I set up a simple mouth control using the facial joints with a set driven key for simple mouth opening. I only used one simple head control but this added to the toy like animation we were wanting to achieve.

Q Storyboard

Modeling Q

I began modelling the Q model. It ended up becoming high poly very quickly. I tried reducing it but felt that it was a beginning to be a lost corse. We decided that the art direction was not fitting with this Q and tom set about Re-designing it.

I finally have a new design for Q and do like it, its simplistic and adds to the animations "cuteness" but im unsure weather to texture the facial details much like a wii character or to model them.

I

decided to model the details and realised it was much more time consuming, I really struggled as I only had a front on view of the character but once I got going it wasn’t to hard. I just textured the model using simple blinn shaders onto the seperate ares before I combined the final model itself.
